Holiday Tips For An International Student!

Lifestyle, Study Abroad

Are you an international student, unable to make it home this holiday season?

Don’t worry, there’re ways to make the best out of this holiday experience, home away from home!

This is a common concern for students studying abroad, not being able to head home and on the other hand having to decide what to do during this time. We believe that if you want to experience and immerse in the country’s culture, there is no better way to do it than during winter holidays.

Experience Christmas

Christmas celebration differs from country to country. Experiencing an alternative cultural Christmas can be an added benefit for any student studying there. Bask in the magical decorations on display in every nook and corner of the city.

Holiday Jobs

Work while staying over during the holidays and earn some extra bucks! A lot of places would want to hire temporary staff to help out with the Christmas rush. It is close to impossible to not feel the festive spirit even while working during the holidays.

Christmas Trip

Do you have a destination that you and your friends have been planning to visit? This is the time to make it work. Explore the countries/cities best during the winter break! Wherever you go, you will surely not miss the festive excitement.

Get Together & Celebrate

Plan a festive get-together with other fellow students who just like you, couldn’t make it home. Decorate a tree, plan a pot-luck, party away – whatever you’ll like! Also chances are pretty high that you’ll be amidst other Indian students. Celebrate the season with people from your home country.

It’s the season of joy and making people happy is an instant mood booster!  Use your spare time to help the less fortunate people feel the festive spirit. Spend time with kids or senior citizens – they would love your company and so will you love theirs.

These are just few of the very many options out there for you. The options will also vary from one country to another. Decide what you want to do and why you are willing to do it, before making the final decision. Whatever it may be, don’t forget to indulge yourself in the festive spirit!
